Everything Beach… Everything Good!

In the beginning

the idea of Everything Beach began as a family-driven overseer of sorts. As I’ve been told, Frank VanRood and his wife Sally moved to Topsail Island because she was a “beach girl”. She loved being near the ocean and watching the dolphins swim by her home every day. Although the VanRood’s lived here full time, Sally’s extended family did not. Several family members did, however, have 2nd homes in North Topsail Beach in Hampton Colony. The story goes that Frank and Sally would oversee the homes when vacant.

The idea of expansion

began after a few phone calls from family members requesting the need for beach chairs and umbrellas upon arrival. It was then hot tub and cleaning services were needed after their departure. Frank and Sally were a business-oriented couple. They saw an opportunity for not only helping the family with vacation needs but also tourist that came to visit North Topsail Beach. Obviously the next step was to take on a process that had not been serviced by many on the island at that time.

In the spring

of 2005 the VanRoods made the business official. Everything Beach became a real entity and began to grow. What was once a small family business grew quickly into Homewatch, Housekeeping, Pool/Hot Tub Service, Maintenance, Lawn Care, and Rental company. By 2015 both decided they wanted to pass the tiki torch to someone new. It was time for a real retirement.

The tiki torch was

passed in the spring of 2016. It took a few months to get adjusted because my husband and I were from Texas. We knew nothing of island life or tourist season back then. It didn’t take us long to figure it out though. During the last 4 years, we also learned what hurricanes, pandemics, and customer service were. Hurricane Florence nearly broke us and COVID19 got us off to a late start this season. The greatest thing I can say about it all is that our customers keep coming back.
